This is a joint publication of WBB Trust with Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and HealthBridge. This book describes the need for ecocities and their characteristics, recommendations to improve the situation for pedestrians, fuel-free transport, and public transport, and the need to reduce private cars. It also discusses waste and sanitation, and recommendations to reduce noise pollution, polythene and plastics. The book also contains eight designs on different themes (including recreation, sustainability, air and light, and independent mobility of children) by students of Urban and Regional Planning of BUET with guidance from Ecocity Builders of the USA.
