“Tobacco Company Intervention, Major Obstacles to Tobacco Control”- A Research Book.
Tobacco companies are influencing policy decisions to improve public health through tobacco control worldwide. Bangladesh is no exception. Although Bangladesh has the opportunity to play a leading role in tobacco control, it has to lag in many cases due to the interference and influence of companies. Also, due to some obstacles in several Bangladesh laws, it is impossible to achieve the expected results in tobacco control. The main reason for this is the interference of the company.
In addition to giving greater importance to tobacco control in improving public health, companies' interference needs to be strictly controlled. Work for a Better Bangladesh (WBB) Trust has published a research book entitled "Tobacco Industry Interference, major Impediment to Tobacco Control" to provide information on tobacco control interventions at the country and international level, identify barriers in national laws and provide guidance on overcoming the resulting problems.
