Tobacco use is one of the leading causes of preventable death today. According to Global Adult Tobacco Survey data, more than 1 lakh 61 thousand people died in Bangladesh in 2016 due to tobacco-related diseases. Outbreaks appear to be exacerbated during these long-term and chronic illnesses. In addition to health, tobacco is harming the state economically and environmentally.
