Access to safe and nutritious food is a major challenge for urban dwellers. A study by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations found that between 17 to 32 percent of fruits and vegetables go to waste before they reach people's plates. A farmer's market will not only provide people with safe and nutritious food, but also reduce food wastage. We believe that farmers' markets will contribute to the development of local residents, farmers and the overall food system.
