All police station of  Bangladesh are smoke free. Bangladesh is one of the countries among the low and middle income sectors to have the privilege to create smoke-free workplace for such a big froce. Police-station is government ofice. Many non smoker including woman and children come here for various services. Home minister Adocate Shahara Khutun MP has proclaimed that staement while speaking as chief guest on the occasion of declaring Ramna model police-station smoke-free as part of celebrating World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) 2010.

Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust and Bangladesh Tamak Birodhi Jote (BATA) in collaboration with Dhaka Metropolitan polic (DMP) undertook initiative to make all police station of Bangladesh smoke free which began from making Ramna Model Thana smoke free.
