Dhaka city has lost cleanliness mostly because of throwing garbage here and there. As a result the environment is getting polluted and various diseases are being spread. So wastes should be thrown in specific place. And enough waste bins are needed for that. Considering the need Dhaka North City Corporation and Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust have jointly installed waste bins from Rayerbazar to Sankar road. On 30 April 2016 Captain Bipan Kumar Saha, Chief Waste Management Officer, Dhaka North City Corporation, inaugurated the installation program. Alhaz MD Abu Taher Khan, 34 no Ward Commissioner, Rayerbazar area, was also present in the program.
Speakers said that, throwing garbage here and there causes various diseases and also water clogging. DNCC has taken initiative to install 5000 waste bins in their constituent area and 1000 waste bins have already been installed. Installing waste bin is not enough unless the community people are aware and makes proper use of the waste bins. So they should be aware and the waste bins should be maintained properly.
The program was presided by Alhaz MD Abu Taher Khan, 34 no Ward Commissioner, Rayerbazar area. Speakers of the program were Captain Bipan Kumar Saha, Chief Waste Management Officer, Dhaka North City Corporation; Saifuddin Ahmed, Executive Director, Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust. Besides DNCC officials MD. Mesbaul Karim, Engineer (Waste Management Department); Abul Hasnat MD Ashraful, Executive Engineer; Disposal SM Shafikur Rahman, Waste Management Department; Masudul Alam, Manager, Basu Dev, Assistant Waste Management Officer were present in the officer. Also all the officials of WBB Trust were present in the program.
