We are making our surroundings dirty and unhealthy by dumping garbage here and there. This is increasing the risk of various diseases and also causing problem in sewerage system. It is the duty of the dwellers to keep their own locality clean. Together we will make Rayerbazar a healthy, clean and environment friendly area. Speakers said as above in a human chain organized at Rayer Bazar Sadek Khan Road on 9th April 2015.
Speakers said that, we want to make Dhaka a livable city. Rayerbazar will be an ideal of the clean areas. We will throw garbage in the specific van rather than throwing here and there. We will also aware others for doing the same.
They also said that City Corporation must take initiative to prevent pollution strictly, clean up the city regularly and timely and also to implement laws and rules for banning uses of polythenes and avoid dumping any kind of garbage without specific spot. Speakers also requested the students and teachers of schools and shopkeepers to keep their own premises clean.
Abu Naser Khan, Chairman, Poribesh Bachao Andolon (POBA) said that, Mayors and Commissioners should take care of the issue after they get elected in the upcoming elections.
The program was organized by Dhaka Ideal Cadet School, Alhaz Abdul-Hashem Khan Yusef School, Alif Ideal Public School, Success Model High School, Safe School, Confidence Ideal School, Shahid Buddhijibi Ideal Academy, POBA, Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust and by the local people. 800 students from 7 schools participated in the human chain. The program was chaired by Abu Naser Khan, Chairman, POBA and was moderated by Atiq Morshed, Coordinator, POBA. Speakers of the human chain were Monir Mannan, Principal, Dhaka Ideal Cadet School; Maruf Hossain, National Advocacy Officer, WBB Trust; Ziaur Rahman, Project Officer, WBB Trust; Monjur Hasan Dilu; Osman Ali, Head Master, Success Model High School; Nurul Islam, Head Master, Shahid Buddhijibi Ideal Academy; Jamil Hossain, Head Master, Safe School and many more.
