The number of death in cancer, heart disease, stroke as well as non-communicable diseases is increasing constantly. Establishment of Health Promotion Foundation is necessary to prevent these diseases. Representatives working on the health issue sought the intervention of the parliamentary committee in this regard. They demanded this while meeting with the President of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare Ministry, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim on 2nd August 2015 Sunday afternoon. Syed Mahbubul Alam, Technical Advisor at international organization The Union, Nikhil Bhadra, Executive Director of Protect to Journalists,  Naznin Kabir , senior project officer and Syed Saiful Alam, media advocacy officer of WBB Trust and journalist Shahjahan Mollah was present there. Importance has been given on prevention system in Health Policy 2011, said in a written proposal raised to the president. And to do so it will be needed to form a Health Promotion Foundation. Already 23 countries have established this foundation. It is also said, this foundation can play a particular role in collaborating public and private activities. Financial and technical support can be given through this foundation to ensure the prevention of diseases. Representatives present at the meeting expressed hope that the parliamentary committee will take necessary initiatives on this issue. The chairman of the parliamentary committee agreed with the statement of the delegates. He assured to discuss in detail about the issue afterwards and take necessary steps.
