Shop owners are motivated to remove illegal tobacco ads from POS (point of sales). Today a group of anti-tobacco activist had run a motivation campaign to removed tobacco ads from POS at Dhanmondi area of Dhaka city.  Total 39 shop owners are voluntary removed ads from their shops.

Some shop owners claim that, industries officers providing misleading information about TC law and encourage different way to install illegal ads at their shops.

According to tobacco control law all kinds of tobacco ads are illegal in Bangladesh. Advertisement at POS is ban according to TC law under section 5(cha).  Government has regular initiative to run mobile court to removed illegal tobacco ads. But tobacco industries are violating law by different activities day by day.
