96.45% of residents are satisfied with the neighborhood farmers’ markets and 87.78% of community people regularly purchase products from there. On the other hand, 56.64% of the farmers said that they get more profit by selling their produce in the farmers' market. Markets need to be regularized through a separate desk considering the benefits of both farmers and consumers. Today, February 26, 2023, at 10.00 am, the speakers said this at the metropolitan level strategic meeting organized to determine the strategy to sustain 16 farmers' markets of Dhaka.

Project Manager of Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust, Naima Akter, presented the keynote speech in the event and Ziaur Rahman, Senior Project Manager of Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust moderated the event. The meeting was presided over by Numeri Zaman, Joint Secretary, Development Division of Local Government Division and Mustaqeem Billah Faruqi, Additional Secretary of the Local Government Division was present as the chief guest. Md. Mustafizur Rahman, Deputy Secretary of the Local Government Division, Gaous Pearee, Director of Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust, Food System Policy Economist of the Dhaka Food System Project  of FAOBD Pedro Andres Garzon Delvaux, National Project Coordinator Jainal Abedin, Babar Ali Mir, Zonal Executive Officer of Zone 3 of Dhaka South City Corporation also spoke at the event., Saiful Islam, Deputy Director , Department of Agriculture Extension, Gazipur, Asit Baran Biswas, Councilor, Ward No. 15, Narayanganj City Corporation, Roknuddin Ahmed, Councilor, Ward No. 39, Dhaka South City Corporation were also present at this event.
