Farmers' Markets of ward no 12 and 15 of Narayanganj City Corporation have already received positive response from local residents as they ensure the supply of safe vegetables. Considering the nutritional needs of the people, it is necessary to make the two markets sustainable and to take initiatives to create farmers' markets in other wards of Narayanganj as well. Today, on January 19, 2023, at 10.00 am, the speakers said this at a Learning Sharing Workshop on farmers' market of NCC.

The workshop was presided over by Shahidul Islam, Chief Executive Officer of Narayanganj City Corporation, moderated by Senior Project Manager of Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust, Ziaur Rahman, the project manager of the organization, and Naima Akter, presented the keynote speech. Numeri Zaman, Joint Secretary of Local Government Division, was present as the chief guest, and Md. Mustafizur Rahman, Deputy Secretary of Local Government Department was present as a special guest. Asit Baran Biswas, Councilor, Ward No. 15, Narayanganj City Corporation, Minowara Begum, Reserved Councilor, Ward No. 10, 11, 12, Narayanganj City Corporation; Narayanganj Upazila Agriculture Officer Mahmuda Hasnat, Senior Technical Advisor of Dhaka Food System Project Xavier Bouan, Sustainable Agriculture Specialist Jahangir Alam, and Gaous Pearee, Director of Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust.
