To create awareness about tobacco control law and to stop promotion of tobacco products, activist urge to district administration to take necessary steps. Because according to the law any advertisement of tobacco product is prohibited but still the related companies are violating it by continuing their promotional activities using different strategies. At present, point of sale is the main center for advertisement. To reduce the use of tobacco it is needed to stop its promotion.

A view exchange meeting arranged jointly by Work for A Better Bangladesh (WBB) Trust and Arunodoyer Torun Dol at Alif Model School Jafrabad on 20^th August 2015. The meeting has been presided by Md, Al Masud, ED, PMESD. Shahidul Islam and Miraz Hossain from Arunodoyer Torun Dol, Shuvo Karmokar and Abu Ryhan from WBB Trust gave speech in the meeting.

The chair said selling tobacco products to under 18 is prohibited. Print and electronic media can play a vital role to promote this issue. He assures that his organization will actively support in illegal promotional activities.

Speaker said companies' illegal advertisement encourages the young people for smoking. We all have to stand against it with the government. In the meeting it is also pointed out about harmful side of the tobacco harvesting. They said govt. has taken initiative to motivate the tobacco cultivators to adopt alternative profitable farming instead of tobacco.
