Service Appreciation Program for the Staff of the BSMMU for Their Great Service

The people in Bangladesh, who has a bad image for the public hospital and they think public hospital does not provide good services to the poor people. But the public hospitals are giving valuable services to the poor people. As we know, the public hospital does not have enough facilities to give proper services to the patients. But even they have lack of facilities at the hospital; they are managing available resources and giving the best services to the patients.

The appreciation program was conducted at the BSMMU Hospital, today. There are seventeen volunteer organizations were attended to the program.

There are some of data in 2012, All the public hospitals of the country have provided outdoor service for more than 130 million patients and through the indoor service, they have provided for more than 4 million patients. In our country doctor and patient ratio indicate for the one doctor has to look after 3297 patients (1:3297), for the one nurse has to look after 11,000 patients (1:11,000), one medical technologist has 27842 patients.

The vice chancellor of the BSMMU, Mr. Pran Gopal Dutta expressed his thoughts to us, when he got the reward from us, that “the public hospital is the only the place for the poor people to get treatment and medicines and also he mentioned that, “the people always criticize our services, what we are providing to the people, but we are giving the services to the people in our best, within the lack of resources”.

The Chairman of Paribesh Bachao Andolon Mr. Abu Naser Khan also delivered following statement “BSMMU has 4000 staff, including doctors, nurses and other officers, they are always working hard to provide proper services to the patients. Therefore, many of patients are coming to get treatment from this hospital”.

Volunteers delivered their thoughts “in our country, there are no recognition for the government hospital’s service. The public hospital has only criticism and also they mentioned that the criticism will create bad situation and they cannot provide proper service.
