Tobacco Industry Interference (TII) Monitoring Report

A total of 48 industry interferences were reported in September. Notable among these we identified that, The National Board of Revenue (NBR) for being last fiscal year's top taxpayer to BATB and BAT Bangladesh has contributed 11 Core 10 Lac Taka to the Labor Welfare Foundation Fund under the

Ministry of Labor and Employment. On the other hand Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) chairman inaugurate a cigarette company named Global Tobacco Industry at Ishwardi EPZ.

With the technical assistance of the Union, WBB Trust has collected all the information about the

interferences done by the tobacco companies. A brief report on the activities of tobacco companies has
