An
Economic Tool to Increase Government Revenue and Improve Health:
Tobacco Tax (Bengali only)
One of the single most effective
tools in tobacco control is tobacco taxation. As taxes on
tobacco products go up, consumption goes down, especially among
youth and the poor. This book explains the relationship
between taxes and consumption, and how increased tobacco taxation
can simultaneously improve health and generate much-needed
government revenue. The book also offers suggestions on
dealing with smuggling. |
